Show to get Lexington residents dreaming of summer

The Kentucky Sport, Boat and Recreation Show is taking place in Lexington next month for four days.

The show will highlight the newest boats, sporting equipment and the wide variety of recreational activities available in the Lexington area. There will be activities and entertainment that will appeal to the entire family.

There will be several special events, including military appreciation day and night. Active personnel and veterans will receive $2 off the admission fee.

The event will feature cooking demonstrations from chefs Hannah McCauley and Shannen Bunton, fishing seminars and fishing in the Hawg Trough, and self-defense lessons. There will also be a weather watcher class.

Musical entertainment will be provided by Ben Lacy, Lauren Mink, Banjo Man Neal James, and Walker Montgomery. For the kids, there will be an Inflatable City which will feature rides such as a slide, an obstacle course, and a bounce house.

There will also be exhibitors representing local businesses and recreational facilities.

To spread the word in the Lexington area, organizers may contact a local poster printing company to provide materials that can be posted throughout the city.

The Kentucky Sport, Boat and Recreation Show will be held at the Lexington Center and Rupp Arena from February 8 to 11. Tickets are $12 for adults, and $5 for children between the ages of 3 and 13. Call 859-566-1206 for more information.
