The next CHEW dinner is taking place next month in Lexington.
CHEW is a series of four dinners and two brunches that offer farm-to-table foods and pay tribute to Kentucky producers and products. It is held to support local farmers, chefs and distributors; every piece of food is locally sourced. Each meal has a different ethnic emphasis.
The series began in February and continues until September. The next dinner will be held next month and will feature Vietnamese fare prepared by yet-to-be-announced chefs. Each starts off with a cocktail reception, which is followed by a three-course dinner prepared by some of the city’s top chefs.
Following this will be a Greek brunch in June, a Thai dinner in August, and an Indian meal in September.
This series offers a way for the public to develop an appreciation of local agriculture, and to help them to lower their carbon footprint while supporting their community. They may also have the opportunity to meet some of the food suppliers.
To advertise events such as these, Lexington Print shops are often asked to provide Flyers to be distributed in the community.
The next CHEW dinner will be held at Limestone Hall on May 16, beginning at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $50 each. For the most current information about this and the rest of the series, call 859-230-5365.
