The Great Day Race and Fest is being held in Lexington next month. It is a fundraising event for the Kentucky Cancer Foundation.
There are three races taking place at this event. The 5K will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park (fees are $30 each person) and the 10K is a road race for those aged 13 and over ($40 per person). The Steeplechase Obstacle Course is three miles long and has more than 30 obstacles; this is for those aged 13 and over and cost $60 per person. Awards will be presented for the 5K in several categories.
After the races, the festival is set to feature lots of family friendly fun. There will be children's activities, food trucks, beer and wine for sale, and musical performances. Some of those confirmed for this year's event are Johnny Conqueroo and Stringband.
There will also be a performance of Chris Sullivan's Western Movies. Other activities include a hula-hoop challenge, a booiaka (freestyle dance) fitness class, and a DJ dance demo. Vendors will also be on hand.
