Open horse show returns to Lexington this fall

The CP National Horse Show is taking place for a week beginning on the last day of this month.

This is an open competition for both professionals and amateurs who will compete in several different categories. This includes the 3’3” Equitation Championship, the ASPCA Maclay National Championship, World Cup Jumping Lexington, and Maclay Shooting Horse. There is over $810,000 available in prize money, and the public will be able to purchase tickets to watch all of the competitions.

There are a couple of special events taking place during the show. November 3 is Barn Night, which is a costume competition where groups represent certain barns. There will be prizes awarded for the best costumes.

The National Horse Show 5K takes place on November 4 and benefits the UK Markey Cancer Foundation. Fees are $30, and participants will be treated to a Breeders’ Cup viewing party. Also on November 4, the Original Wailers will be giving a concert at Gracie Street Garden; tickets are $25 each and include the show jumping competition.

This popular event may be advertised in the Lexington area using products supplied by a local poster printing company.
