Natured-themed exhibit ends next month

Art by Nature, a nature-themed exhibit, will end its run in December. The event focuses on how the natural landscape can be captured by local artists.

The exhibit features 23 trees from Fayette County and a gallery of artwork inspired by the trees. Around 38 artists from around Lexington worked on the gallery by utilizing different media like poetry, painting, collage, and sculpture. Organizers hope that the exhibit can inspire locals to consider the advantages of planting trees.

Anyone interested in purchasing some of the artwork can do so online. These works are often made with the help of printing services, and proceeds will go towards urban reforesting.

The exhibit will also have a closing reception in a few weeks, which will give visitors a final chance to partake in the gallery’s scavenger hunt. Guests can also take home an Art by Nature craft kit, which will help guests “gamify” their garden and decorate it.

Art By Nature will finish on December 17, with the closing reception taking place between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. It will happen in the Julietta Market located at the Greyline Station on 101 West Loudon Avenue. The exhibit is available the same days as the venue is open and operates from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM. It is free and open to the general public.
