Local charities set to win with golf tournaments

There are two upcoming golf tournaments taking place in Lexington that will help raise funds for two worthy local charities.

The first one is Golf Scramble for a Cause, which is a fundraiser for The Well of Lexington which provides safe housing and other services for abused women. Fees are $125 per play and include green fees, lunch, prizes, raffles, and a silent auction. Participants will also receive a hat, T-shirt and a gift bag.

The second tournament, the 6th annual Lexington Sister Cities Golf Scramble, will take place next month. It helps raise fund for the Lexington Sister Cities scholarship fund. The fee for each player is $125 and includes the use of a cart, green fees, balls, lunch, a tee gift, and two drink coupons.

Participants will also compete for prizes for contests such as closest to the pin and longest drive. In addition, the first, second, and third place teams will receive prizes.

Most of the players will likely be bringing their Business Cards to help make connections with their fellow Lexington business leaders.

The Golf Scramble for a Cause will be held on May 21 beginning at 12:00 noon at the Spring Valley Golf Club. To learn more, contact Lynn Parrish at 859-621-6540.
