Lexington Vintage Dance is hosting its annual Fezziwig's Ball in the city this December.
The ball takes place in the Regency Era, which was the early 1800s and the period in which the Charles Dickens’ character Ebenezer Scrooge worked for Old Mister Fezziwig as a youth.
Guests are encouraged to dress in the style of the day, although it is not mandatory. There will be live musical performers, period treats and refreshments to be enjoyed while guests learn the dances of the era.
Featured dances will be easy for beginners, and instructors will be on hand to help them if they run into trouble. They include several waltzes, and guests of the ball may receive a visit during the evening from Scrooge and the ghost of Christmas past.
Lexington Vintage Dance holds several social events like this throughout the year. The group specializes in the teaching of dances that were popular in the 18th and 19th Century.
To advertise events such as these in Lexington, local Stationery printers may be asked to provide Flyers or Brochures to be distributed in the city.
Fezziwig's Ball will be held at the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning on December 6 from 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm. Tickets are $25 each or $15 for Vintage Dance students.
