Lexington residents will once again celebrate the trees

For the many years, Lexington has continued in its tradition of celebrating an event formally known as Trees of Life. This year, however, marking its 30th anniversary, the festival will be appropriately named the ‘Trees of Life Diamond Celebration’.

This event, sponsored by the Kidney Health Alliance of Kentucky, is the largest fundraiser of the year as it provides people on dialysis with nutritional supplements. It also facilitates over 600 Kentucky residents in obtaining free kidney health screenings each year.

The festival itself is a celebration of trees that are decorated for the season. Visitors will vote for their favorite tree and the tree and the most popular vote will receive the People’s Choice Award. Event organizers might benefit from Banners to mark and aid in showcasing the trees.
The celebration will consist of games specifically designed with adults in mind, food, and prizes. The dress code will be casual cocktail, business, or even appropriately festive, seeing as there will be a worst ugly Christmas sweater contest.

There will be entertainment provided by Out of the Box, food by Bonefish Grill, Bluegrass Catering, and a range of samplings provided by other restaurants in the area.

It all takes place in Lexington next Friday, November 18, running from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. More info is available on the event’s website.
