The Lexington Ice Center and Sports Center will host public and freestyle skating for adults and children during the holidays. Skate and Shoot sessions for hockey practice will be available too.
Public skating sessions will be offered every day in December except Christmas Day and December 28. These sessions are two hours and times vary each day. Skate rentals are available, and children and adults of all levels are welcome. Those interested should check the website or call for specific times.
Freestyle skating session will be held on several December dates too. Sessions are geared to advanced skaters and are two hours, with varying times each day. Again, the website has full details.
Skate and Shoot sessions for hockey practice will be held in Rink 2 on December 2, 4, 7, 9, 11, 14, and 16, for two-hours slots. Times vary, but participants need to have helmets, pucks, gloves, and sticks. No skirmishes are allowed on the ice.
During skating sessions, the snack bar is open, serving pretzels, pizza, hotdogs, popcorn, beverages, candy and chips. Ice skates, gloves, and handbags can be purchased at Ice Pinkie, the skate shop at the skating rink.
