Rising Stars Kids 3K will take place in Lexington next week. The event is aimed at children, and families are encouraged to register their kids.
Children ages 6 to 16 can register for the event. Participants will run a course that starts and finishes at Liberty Elementary School. Also, the path will trace through Liberty Trail. All runners will have their runs timed, and top finishes will be recorded according to age group. Additionally, organizers will ready a ¼ Mile Run for children ages two to five.
There will also be a School Team Competition for the schools with the most runners and the five fastest times. Prizes will be awarded to winners of both categories.
Participants can pick up their race packets a day before the event at Grassroots Pharmacy. These items are typically produced with the support of printing services and will provide everything runners will need during the event.
The 3K run will take place on November 7th at 3:00 PM. The racecourse can be found at 2585 Liberty Road, and the Grassroots Pharmacy is located at 2304 Sir Barton Way #195. Entry for the 3K Run is $25, while registration to the ¼ Mile Run is $20. Proceeds from the event will go towards the Grassroots Running Club, which supports youth running and running programs at local schools.
