Though the Michael Jackson music video ‘Thriller’ was made over 30 years ago, it is still celebrated today on an annual basis on the streets of downtown Lexington. This year is not going to be an exception.
At 6:30 pm on the day, the excitement will commence with a dance event taking place at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza. Following that will be a parade that will feature people dressed up as villains, superheroes, ghosts, ghouls, and other characters. Event organizers might benefit from Banners that spell out the action and mark the course of the procession.
Finally, the streets will come to life all the more, as costumed revelers reenact the Thriller dance that was aired for the first time over three decades ago. The parade and dance party will convene at the corner of Main Street and Quality Street. The parade will move along Main Street all the way to Mill Street, repeating the dance along the way. The Thriller dance parade will begin at 8:30 pm, all taking place happens in the heart of Lexington.
The event, known as The Annual Thriller and Halloween Parade, will take place on October 29, the last weekend prior to the actual holiday. Due to the popularity of the event, USA Today has ranked its location as a top 10 Halloween destination.
