Convention to offer something for every fan

The Lexington Comic and Toy Convention is coming to the city for three days next month. The show is set to celebrate science fiction, fantasy, and comic book characters.

The main draw of the convention will be the many celebrity guests who are planning on attending. This year has several actors from the ‘Doctor Who’ series including Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, and Karan Gillian. Other actor guests include Brent Spiner from ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’, and James Marsters, best-known for his role of Spike in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’. There will also be appearances by comic book artists and creators.

James Marsters will be presented in concert on March 12, beginning at 7:00 PM; tickets cost $20 or $50.

Other activities during the weekend include a kickoff party at Hytopps, a live magic show, sci-fi speed dating, and a costume contest. A dealers’ room will also feature all sorts of merchandise for sale.

Lexington poster printing firms may be asked to provide their products to help advertise this event.

The Lexington Comic and Toy Convention will be held at the Lexington Convention Center from March 11 to 13. Tickets are $45 for two days, $35 for Saturday, and $25 for Sunday. March 11 is a preview night and only for those with a three-day VIP pass, which costs $65 and includes a T-shirt.
