Annual fair showcases Kentucky artists

The Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen is holding its Fall Fair in Lexington next month over two days.

The fair is set to feature 150 artists from all over Kentucky at a juried festival. They will be selling works in 14 categories including ironwork, photography, pottery, jewelry, 2D fine art, and glass. Many of the artists will be providing demonstrations of their art process.

Artists paid a fee of $5 to apply to the fair and had to supply five photographs of their work, while a booth cost $225 or $400 for a double. While the deadline has passed for new applications, the wait list will be released on October 1.

In addition to the art works for sale, there will be musical entertainment, food for sale and a variety of hands-on art activities for people of all ages.

Festivals like this are an opportunity for artisans to gain new customers, meet their peers, and get some recognition in the art community. No doubt this particular event will attract a lot of people in the Lexington area who are interested in graphic design.

The Fall Fair will be held at Indian Fort Theatre from October 14 to 15. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children aged 12 and under. For more information about planned activities at the fair, call 859-986-3192.
