Annual fair returns to Lexington next month for two weeks

The Bluegrass Fair is taking place next month for 11 days, the event is presented by the Lexington Lions Club.

The fair is quite popular in the Lexington area and features many activities consistent with an old-fashioned county fair. There will be several livestock competitions such as the Breeding Beef Cattle Show and the Market Steer and Heifer Show, agricultural exhibits from 4H and Homegrown and Homemade competitions. There is also set to be a Barnyard Petting Zoo.

The event also features a midway with over 100 rides and games. A wristband can be purchased for $20 that offers unlimited rides. There will also be a variety of food concessions and vendors selling souvenirs.

Musical entertainment this year will be the Fiesta Latina, which will feature a variety of Latin artists. This year’s performers will include DJ Gomez, Sonida Callejero and Banda La Principal. There will also be many other activities such as performances by The Nerveless Nocks who perform aerial stunts on motorcycles, Kentucky Zone wrestling, and pig racing. In addition, there will be Miss Bluegrass Fair and Miss Teen Bluegrass Fair pageants.
