Anime convention returns to Lexington

The 4th annual Kentokyocon is taking place over three days next month in Lexington. It is a convention that is dedicated to manga, anime, and Japanese popular culture.

The event features video gaming tournaments and casual play, and tabletop gaming featuring the likes of Warhammer 40k, together with discussion panels and an anime video music (AMV) contest. A major gaming event at the convention will be the Kentokyo Battle Circuit game tournament; participants pay $10 and compete for cash prizes.

Two of the special guests that have been announced for this year’s convention are voice actress Caitlynn French and Shadow Clone, who is a musician and cosplayer.

A big part of any event of this type is the cosplay, where people who dress up in costume and usually portray a character based on anime or manga from Books, TV, or movies.

A popular section will be the vendors’ room, where fans will be able to purchase anything from Books to movies to games. Tables are still available for rental; fees are $125 for artists and from $225 to $275 for others.

Lexington poster printing firms are often asked to provide poster printing services to help advertise events like this.
