Santa will be in the Olathe area soon, giving a special opportunity to those who might not otherwise get to see him.
ACI Learning Centers is bring an Autism Friendly Santa to Overland Park, a short drive from Olathe, for a free event for the community.
Families who have children with challenging behaviors, or who are on the autism spectrum, or otherwise developmentally delayed, will enjoy bringing their children to an event designed especially for them. The day is crafted to make sure they’re comfortable, unlike the noisy, crowded Santa experience often found at local malls.
Photos with Santa are on the schedule for those children who want to have them taken. They’ll also be able to enjoy cookies, drinks, and crafts. The play area in the learning center will be available for the children to enjoy as they wait their turn.
ACI uses applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy to teach a number of skills, including daily living, communication, and play, that help autistic children and their families achieve success. Banner printing can be used to provide suitable decorations for events like this.
The Autism Friendly Santa will be at the ACI Learning Center on College Boulevard in Overland Park, on December 14, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Santa will be there the entire time, and the center is asking that people who would like to have photos preregister online.
