At Home, a home décor superstore that has 85 locations in 22 states and carries everything from lawn furniture to art, opened recently in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and will soon open in Olathe.
The new site will be the first At Home store in Kansas, and will take over a former Kmart on East Santa Fe. The space comprises 104,000 square feet.
At Home stores feature a wide range of décor, including curtains, wall decorations, textiles, artworks, furniture, and seasonal items. Among the season-specific goods on display now are garden décor, lawn furniture, and decorations for Fourth of July celebrations.
At Home offers more than 50,000 discounted décor items, including 600 various types of rugs, sofas, unusual lamps, pottery, Drinkware, bedding, hundreds of pillows for both indoor and outdoor furniture, and dishes—including a set featuring characters from ‘Frozen’, the hugely successful Disney animated film. According to its website, the wide variety is one of At Home’s main selling points, as are the low prices.
Customers at the Lee’s Summit store were perhaps a little overwhelmed by the huge variety, but praised the store for being well organized.
The Olathe At Home is scheduled to open late in May. Store management might consider working with a flyer printing company on a handout, including a coupon for the first shoppers, to celebrate the opening.Get a Free Quote for Drinkware
