City officials recently announced that pool passes for Olathe's outdoor pools are on sale now.
Residents who buy a pass will be entitled to swim at all the outdoor public pools in Olathe during the season. This includes Mill Creek Pool, Oregon Trail Pool, Frontier Pool, and Black Bob Bay. In addition, members of the Olathe Community Center will be able to save 25% on the passes. There are passes available for individuals, and for families of up to eight members.
Mill Creek Pool is on East Poplar Street, and offers a lap pool, spray features, a dive well, zero-depth entry, and a water slide. The Oregon Trail Pool on West Dennis Avenue has the same features, as does the Frontier Pool, located on West 127th Street.
Black Bob Bay is both a pool and a water park. Amenities here include a baby pool, a 50-meter pool, a dive well with four diving boards of varying heights, shade areas that can be rented for parties, a changing room for families, play structures in shallow water, a lazy river, and raft water slides.
In order to buy a pass, applicants must go to the Olathe Community Center with proof of residency, a completed form requesting a season pass, all family members, and required payment. All members of the family have to be present to have their photo taken. Officials can use flyer printing to create handouts listing these requirements.
The swim season starts May 27 and closes September 2.
