One of the branches of Olathe's library system is reducing services instead of closing as originally planned. The change is due to requests from library patrons.
The Indian Creek Library, a branch of the Olathe Public Library system, will be moving to a new location. Originally, it was planned that the library would close entirely during the move, but it was recently announced that the branch will remain open, though its hours and services will be curtailed. Flyer printing can be used to disseminate information about changes like this.
The branch started its new hours on August 19, and will continue the limited schedule through September 8. During this period, patrons will be able to check out and return materials, and pick up items they have on hold. The reduced hours are:
Mondays through Thursdays, 9.00 am until 7.00 pm;
Fridays from 9.00 am until 6.00 pm;
Saturdays from 10.00 am until 5.00 pm; and
Sundays from 1.00 pm until 5.00 pm.
There will be return box available at the temporary library until the new library is finished. There is also a return box at the Crossroads Shopping Center. In addition, the Makerspace in the downtown library is now closed through September 22 to help get the Makerspace at Indian Creek ready. The new library opens October 19.
