Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza recently opened a location in Olathe, the second in the state of Kansas.
The fast-casual restaurant chain is known for its artisanal pizzas, casual atmosphere, and chef-driven Menus. The new restaurant opened in the Olathe Pointe Shopping Center, where it offers 2,800 square feet that can seat 76, and an outdoor patio.
Blaze Pizza rolled out its concept in 2012, and has become extremely popular. Customers like the open kitchen where they either create their own pizza, or customize one of the restaurant’s signature pies, choosing from a number of fresh ingredients to add to the pizza. Once diners have built their pie, they can enjoy the “show” as the pizza is whisked off to an open-flame pizza oven set at such a high temperature that the baking is finished in three minutes or less.
Although each location operates independently, and makes its pizza dough from scratch, they use Executive Chef Bradford Kent’s recipe. Kent is known as the “pizza whisperer,” and his dough must be allowed to ferment for 24 hours before being rolled out in order to produce a crisp, light crust. The restaurants also have options for people with special dietary restrictions, including making pizza with vegan cheese and gluten-free dough.
