Olathe is celebrating the month of “Spooktober” with several special events.
The Olathe Community Center on East Kansas City Road is the site of Celebrate Olathe. Attendees will have a chance to take part in face painting, walk the Trick-or-Treat Trail, enjoy treats from food trucks, and more. Everyone is encouraged to arrive in costume and park at Olathe North. A free shuttle will take visitors from the school to the center.
The historic Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm will be the place to “Trick-or-Treat Off the Street.” Visitors are encouraged to break out their best Halloween costumes and join in living history activities. These include crafts, games, candy stations, and riding in a horse-drawn hay wagon. A free shuttle will run between Mahaffie Stagecoach and Olathe North. Admission is $3 before October 26, and $4 at the door.
Finally, families are invited to take a dip in the Haunted Swamp, which can be found in the Community Center pool. Activities include decorating pumpkins, followed by trick-or-treating, diving for pumpkins, and a swim in the “swamp.” Admission is $10 per child for residents of Olathe, and $15 for nonresidents.
Celebrate Olathe is set for 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm this Friday, October 25. Trick-or-Treat Off the Street at Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop is from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Saturday, October 26, and the Haunted Swamp runs from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday. Banner printing can be used to create decorations for events like this.
