It is getting to be that time of year, and an Olathe summer tradition will soon be up and running.
The Olathe Farmers’ Market is open from April through October, offering patrons plants, fresh produce, flowers, baked goods, and much more. The majority of items for sale are produced in the local area, often within 250 miles of the city.
Vendors who come to the market set up in two different locations; Black Bob Park, and Stagecoach Park. In 2019, vendors in Black Bob Park included Yellow Dog Farm, Rock the House Bakery, and Bauman's Cedar Valley Farm. In Stagecoach Park, 2019's vendors included Stewart Greenhouse, Bailey's Orchard, and more. Rollin B Produce was represented at both locations.
The city is still accepting applications for this year's market, and some of the 2019 participants will no doubt be back. Banner printing can be used to create publicity at outdoor activities like this.
At present, the market is scheduled to operate twice a week, on Saturdays and Wednesdays. The first Saturday this year is April 25, and the last is October 24. The market opens at 7.30 am and remains open until all the items have been sold. The first Wednesday this year is May 6, and the last is September 23. Its hours are the same the Saturday market. Shoppers, as well as vendors, might like to check the website in case of any changes to the schedule as a result of COVID-19 restrictions.
