Once again, Olathe is getting ready to celebrate the season with a special festival.
Attendees of the annual Olathe Summer Fun Fest can start their evening with activities in the city's downtown, such as a photo booth and face painting, and delicious goodies served by food trucks. After that, they can make their way to Stagecoach Park, where a Touch-A-Truck event is on the schedule.
The event is family-friendly, and gives both kids and enthusiastic adults the opportunity to get up close and personal with heavy equipment such as trash trucks, street sweepers, vactor trucks (a truck that can pump liquids into the tank, often from an underground source), and huge excavators. People can climb on the vehicles, honk horns, and have fun. The experts who maintain the vehicles will be there to explain how they work.
Visitors can end the night at an Olathe Live! concert, this time featuring tribute bands for Elton John and The Who. Banner printing can provide colorful decorations for events like this.
The Summer Fun Fest is set for this Friday, July 26, with food trucks and Fourth Friday activities starting downtown at 5:00 pm. Touch-A-Truck is scheduled to run from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm, with the concert starting at 7:00 pm. For people who would like to avoid parking problems, a shuttle will run to the festival from Olathe North High School.
