Husqvarna acquires Diamond Tool

Husqvarna Construction Products of Olathe, a division of international giant Husqvarna AB, recently snapped up Diamond Tool Supply, Inc., a Michigan company.

Husqvarna Construction Products' president, Henric Andersson, said acquiring Diamond reinforced the company's position as:

“[A] market leader of complete solutions for the construction grinding and polishing industry.”

Diamond Tool Supply, Inc., produces grinding and polishing diamond tools for use on stone, concrete, and terrazzo.

The acquisition of Diamond is expected to add approximately $5.8m in annual sales to the Construction Products' ledger. Most of the sales are expected to be to customers in the United States, though Diamond Tool has manufacturing facilities in Bulgaria. Andersson said that Diamond Tool will bring a resilient customer base under the Husqvarna umbrella, as well as expanding its Bulgarian operation, developments that are “clear assets” to the business. The Diamond Tool acquisition went onto Husqvarna's Books on May 3.

Acquiring another company could mean a change in Husqvarna's office supplies, such as Letterheads and Business Cards. It might want to add the ‘Diamond Tool Supply’ name to its official Stationery, and would be able to do so by working with a stationery printing company to create the new letterhead. In addition, should any of Diamond Tool's employees relocate to Olathe, Husqvarna could work with a business card printing company to obtain new cards for them.
