The city of Olathe is set to host a children’s holiday event this December, featuring Santa Claus.
‘Cookies with Santa’ is a daytime experience, where children will have the opportunity to pose for pictures with Santa. Groups can also enjoy cookies and cocoa as they wait.
To ensure a hassle-free experience, each group can reserve a 10-minute timeslot for their session with Santa, so there will be no need to form lines. Each group will be given a 4 x 6 printed picture as a keepsake, and more printed photographs can be bought.
The event is put on by the Mahaffie Stagecoach Shop and Farm, a historic site built in the 1860s. It currently runs on the patronage of residents and fundraising events. It stands as the last working stagecoach stop along the Santa Fe trail. It reopened in 2008 and rebranded as a tourist attraction. It showcases farm life in the 1800s and offers visitors the experience of riding in a stagecoach.
The cost for attendance will be $20 per group. Members of the Farm will pay $18 per group. Registration is available through the venue's website.
Printing services can offer photos to show the lifestyle of those who historically lived on the farm, adding further resources to events such as this.
Cookies with Santa will take place on both December 5 and 7. The Farm is located at 1200 East Kansas City Road, Olathe. Timeslots will begin at 3:00 pm, and end at 6:00 pm.
