The Shake the Lake Country Music festival will be coming to one of the Kansas City metro area’s most scenic lakefronts this September.
The festival is in its first year and aims to create a party atmosphere. The concert will be headlined by rising country musician Dustin Lynch and Nashville singer-songwriter Chris Janson. Other acts include successful country songwriter Adam Sanders, whose first album of his own music received considerable buzz, and Casi Joy, a pop-country singer who appeared on The Voice. There will also be a separate line dancing stage. The festival is open exclusively to those 18 and over.
In addition to the music, Shake the Lake will feature a variety of local vendors including artisanal crafts, local restaurants, and food trucks. Confirmed to appear are Sancho Street Tacos, Rolling in the Dough desserts, and Blues Hog BBQ. There will be an interactive game area alongside special VIP zones on the beach including volleyball courts and an over-the-water obstacle course. The goal is to provide a festive atmosphere for country fans from Kansas City and surrounding areas such as Olathe. Festivals like this aim to offer a complete experience and are typically promoted through flyer printing, social media, and other tools.
The first Shake the Lake Country Music Festival will take place at Longview Lake on September 11.
