New fitness facility opening in Indianapolis

A new fitness center is coming to Indianapolis, and has plans to open on the southeast side of the city.

Vasa Fitness, which is based in Denver, Colorado, is taking over the premises on East Thompson Road previously occupied by a Kroger grocery. Rich Nelsen, the CEO of Vasa, said the organization deliberately looks for extremely large locations. The Kroger store, which is 60,000 feet square, is therefore perfect for them.

Although Nelsen did not give any details about the project, including the opening date, Vasa filed plans with the city. They reveal that Vasa is planning a gym that offers fitness areas for both groups and individuals, a basketball court, an indoor pool, an area for tanning and massage, a childcare area, and more. The Kroger space has been empty since November of 2015, when the grocer relocated to a new location immediately across the street. Workers began interior demolition on the property recently. Brochure printing can be used to create materials describing the amenities of businesses like this.

Vasa Fitness went into business in 1996, and now has 36 locations in Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Arizona, and Utah, and plans to open seven more locations in those states soon. Nelsen said the company will expand into three more states by the beginning of 2020, opening 12 gyms.

Vasa also acquired a famous name in 2014, when 17 Gold's Gyms in Utah became Vasa Fitness centers.
