The 28th Annual Wicket World of Croquet will take place in Indianapolis next month for area croquet players to compete in their best croquet fashion.
The event will be presented by the Lacy Foundation, a private charitable organization, and hosted by the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, a nonprofit organization that preserves and maintains the home and grounds of President Benjamin Harrison. The tournament activities will be held on the newly renovated South Lawn of the presidential grounds.
Both leisure and competitive tournaments will be featured. Players in the competitive tournament will compete for the honor of having their name engraved on the silver Virginia B. Willkie trophy. Attendees are also encouraged to dress in their best white croquet clothes to show off their style in the best dressed competition. For those who do not play croquet, there will be the Porch Party, where people can enjoy food and drink from some of Indianapolis’ finest restaurants and drink partners.
Banners often feature prominently in sporting tournaments such as this. Organizers of similar events may therefore visit local companies specializing in banner printing to prepare.
