Indianapolis talk highlights unsung women and their work

The Whispering Shelf in Indianapolis will present Uncredited: Women's Overlooked, Misattributed, and Stolen Work, an event that sheds light on the important contributions that women have offered throughout history that have been overlooked, uncredited, or stolen by others.

The Whispering Shelf is a local bookstore that sells both new and used Books and places as emphasis on accessibility in reading and access of Books. The bookstore holds various special events and author talks throughout the year, such as the talk upcoming in June. The event will feature authors Allison Tyra and Emma Faesi Hudelson as they talk about Allison’s new book entitled Uncredited.

Drawing from the book’s themes, the two authors will discuss the issue of how contributions from women in history are often buried or unrecognized. Allison will highlight the women whose works have been misattributed, uncredited, or stolen, and how important it is to reclaim that credit and magnify their unheard voices. The event will be an opportunity to celebrate and share female achievements across time and space.

Local talks like this will often be advertised on Flyers that can be handed out, and organizers needing such materials may visit their area flyer printing shops to do so.

The author event is slated for June 12 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. The Whispering Shelf is located at 414 North College Avenue.
