This December, the Indianapolis Museum of Art Galleries at Newfields will host a sneaker festival to celebrate the opening of its new exhibition Future Now: Virtual Sneakers to Cutting-Edge Kicks.
The exhibition revolves around the beauty of footwear, its shared human history, its significance in society, and its important cultural impact. A collaborative effort by the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto, the American Federation of Arts, and the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the event will showcase over 60 footwear designs that explores how cutting-edge science and technology are transforming shoe design and how footwear fits into people’s lives.
Presented with the support of New Shoe Day, which provides shoes to children in need, the sneaker festival, called The Future is Now: Sneakerfest, is intended to get the youth excited about the exhibition, and it will offer free admission to children and their caregivers. The event will also feature a tour of the new exhibit, in-gallery activation and refreshments, and a pair of brand new sneakers for each child.
Museum exhibits like this, especially those preparing for a grand opening, may decide to invest in local banner printing services to decorate for the special event.
The Future is Now: Sneakerfest will take place on Saturday, December 14 from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. The Indianapolis Museum of Art Galleries at Newfields is located at 4000 North Michigan Road.
