Indianapolis company set to expand

Good news could be on the way for Indianapolis job-seekers, because Interactive Intelligence Group, headquartered on the city's Northwestside, is planning to expand its operation there.

The company, which provides business services and communications software, says it will add as many as 430 new jobs by 2016.

Interactive Intelligence is current spread over four buildings, where it occupies approximately 300,000 square feet. The company plans to start construction on a new building this summer, and to move into the new facility about a year from the start of the build. The new facility will add another 112,000 square feet of office space to the company's footprint, in order to house the expanded operation. The price tag for the new building is $28m.

Don Brown founded Interactive Intelligence in Indianapolis in 1994, and remains enthusiastic about the company and the city. He noted in his announcement that it was not necessary for a company to operate in Silicon Valley to be successful in the technology industry, and that Indiana had a great deal to offer, including top-notch universities, a good quality of life and a low cost of living. All these factors, Brown said, will enable Interactive to attract and retain outstanding employees.

Interactive Intelligence may well want to work with business card printing companies, in order to create cards for the new employees, and any that relocate to the new building.
