After two years of legal challenges and delays, the Chatham Park development in the Chatham Arch neighborhood of Indianapolis will be able to get underway, as the Indiana Supreme Court declined to hear the case.
The proposed development is a mixed-used project, which would bring a few single-family homes and townhouses to the area, along with retail spaces and over 50 condos. Since announcing the project two years ago, the developer has made extensive changes to the original design, taking into consideration the concerns of the neighborhood residents. Among the major changes were reducing the building's height by one story, and reducing the length of time it will take to finish the project.
At present, the plans show two four-story buildings which offer approximately 55 condos in total. The units range in size from one-bedroom, 947-square-foot condos to penthouses two stories tall, with almost 2,000 square feet of space. Also on the plans are units with three bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths. The site plans also show three, three-story duplexes, which will be split into six single-family homes, and six townhomes. Developers of projects like this have a chance to work with a brochure printing company to create illustrated Booklets to show the amenities of this type of project to prospective tenants and retailers.
There will be an underground parking facility as well, and one of the condo buildings will have a total of 2,200 square feet for retailers.
