In September, Indianapolis will host the Arsenal 5K Run and Walk, which will benefit the scholarship fund for area high school seniors.
Since 2000, the Arsenal run has raised over $60,000 to go towards scholarships for seniors of Indianapolis Near Eastside High School and to support extracurricular activities of Arsenal Technical High School. The 5K happening next month will further contribute to these charitable efforts.
The event is open to all ages and skill levels, with participants welcome to run or walk at their own pace. The course will traverse the historic campus of Arsenal Technical High School, inviting runners and walkers to admire the beauty of area and to enjoy an atmosphere of history, health, and community. The terrain will be a mixed course, combining grass, asphalt, brick, concrete, and track.
Participants are welcome to register as individuals or as a team of friends or family. High school students who wish to be eligible for individual scholarships must participate in the run/walk by either competing or volunteering.
Race events often have Banners, which can be created through local banner printing services, set up throughout the course to encourage participants.
The 5K will take place on September 17, beginning at 9:00 am. Arsenal Technical High School is located on 1500 East Michigan Street. Students can participate for free, while non-students can register for $20.
