Conference to give Indianapolis students valuable college advice

Next month, the 14th Annual CLD College Prep Conference and College Fair will give Indianapolis high school students the opportunity to gain insight into college admissions.

The CLD (Center for Leadership Development) is an organization dedicated to supporting and advancing the professional futures of minority youth in Central Indiana. The CLD College Prep Conference and College Fair will provide an inclusive and informative space for students in 8th grade through 12th grade to learn the ins and outs of not only getting into college but also excelling when they get there.

Due to COVID restrictions, the one-day event will be first come, first served to the first registered 1,000 attendees. Students and their families will learn about to effectively prepare for college, including how to study, how to seek scholarships, and how to apply for financial aid. Interactive sessions, such as the College Essay Workshop and Knowing Your Financial Worth, will also be featured at the fair. The conference’s mission is to provide valuable resources to help students modify their behavior and academic trajectory for the better.

The CLD College Fair is scheduled for September 11, from 9:15 am to 3:00 pm at the Indiana Conference Center. Tickets are limited and can be purchased on the CLD’s website.
