What's Happening in Indianapolis, IN…

Whole Foods opening date set

Whole Foods is to set up a new location in downtown Indianapolis, and the exact date has finally been revealed.

Not only is this good news for people who enjoy the store’s foodstuffs, it could also be a boon to the economy, as Whole Foods says it plans to hire about 100 new employees for the location.

In 2015, it was announced that Whole Foods would be included in the 360 Market Square Apartments development, as part of a mixed-use building. The store comprises 40,000 square feet. However, setbacks in construction delayed the project, and there was a question as to whether or not Whole Foods would go ahead with the location. In late Summer 2017, the company said it would be open in Spring 2018, but had no exact date. Now the date is known.

Whole Foods was founded in Austin, Texas, in 1980, by people who were committed to offering only organic and sustainable foods. The company has grown to 477 stores in the United Kingdom and North America.

The store in downtown Indianapolis will open March 21 at 9:00 am, and the first 500 people to come to the grocery will receive store gift cards. Most range from $5 to $50, but one lucky shopper will get a card worth $500.

Events like this can be even more enjoyable if managers work with a banner printing company to create a festive banner to celebrate the opening.
