Showcasing paws for a cause Indy Winter Classic Dog Show

This year, from Thursday, February 9, to Sunday, February 12, 2012, Indianapolis residents will be kicking off the winter season with the “Indy Winter Classic Dog Show”. This show is a one-time event and will be held at the Indiana State Fair Grounds, West Pavilion, 1202 E. 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.

This four day event will feature more than 150 breeds and 2000 registered dogs. Since many of the kennel clubs are looking for membership, and many of the businesses with dogs registered are breeders, many businesses are having brochure printing completed at this time to share with visitors looking for specific breeds of dogs.

Besides showing and placing, there will also be featured obedience classes with owners given hints and tips on how to train their precious pouches. Besides the obedience training a rally will also be hosted. All small breeds including toys and terriers, as well as non-sporting dog groups will be professionally groomed in the South Pavilion, Hall D, before the show judging takes place. A tunnel is available to move from the South to West Pavilion.

A remarkable panel of judges has been put together to judge the breeding and obedience divisions of the show. This show is being sponsored by the Central Indiana Kennel Club and the Hoosier Kennel Club. Admission to the Indy Winter Dog Show is $5 and children under 12 many enter free when accompanied by an adult.
