Rock legends to play Indianapolis

One of the most popular of all rock groups is on the way to Indianapolis.

Guns N' Roses are coming to Lucas Oil Stadium for one performance that promises to rock the city.

Guns N' Roses (GNR) first got together in Los Angeles in 1985, and three of the founding members—Axl Rose, Duff McKagan, and Slash—are still with the group. The band enjoyed almost immediate success with their first album, which they released in 1987. The work, “Appetite for Destruction,” was on the Billboard chart for a year, and eventually climbed to the No. 1 spot. Three singles from the album were Top 10 hits: “Paradise City,” “Welcome to the Jungle,” and “Sweet Child o' Mine.” “Sweet Child” also went to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. “Appetite for Destruction” sold about 30 million copies, making it one of the most successful debut albums ever.

In 2012, the first year they were eligible for the honor, GNR was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In their career, GNR have sold over 100 million records, making them one of rock's most successful bands.

A review of the band in concert said:

“. . . the 2-hour-and-50-minute run through most of the essential parts of Guns N’ Roses’ catalog was an electrifying and sometimes even euphoric experience.”

GNR will be in Indianapolis on August 21, at 6.00 pm. Poster printing is often successfully used to promote events like this.
