Pop music giant coming to Indianapolis
One of the biggest names in popular music will be in Indianapolis soon.
Celine Dion is bringing her Courage World Tour to Indianapolis. She announced the tour in Los Angeles at a live event, as she wound up her s16-year residency at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. In Los Angeles, she thanked people for coming to see her Las Vegas shows, and then went on to announce the tour, which is to promote her latest album, “Courage.”
Dion’s career stretches back 35 years, and includes winning 40 Félix Awards, which are given to artists working in the Province of Quebec; 20 Juno Awards, seven American Music Awards, two Academy Awards, and five Grammy Awards. In addition, she has sold nearly 250 million albums, and was recognized for her body of work with a lifetime achievement Icon Award presented by the Billboard Music Association in 2016.
A review of her Los Angeles appearance notes that her voice has remained fresh, without any sign of emotional staleness or vocal wear, even after more than 1,000 shows in Las Vegas, and several world tours. The reviewer added that Dion has the ability to make songs people have heard repeatedly sound new and fresh.
