What's Happening in Indianapolis, IN…

New office block project going ahead

Indianapolis recently approved changes in plans for a two-block office development, allowing the project to move forward.

The complex, which includes a parking garage with seven levels, and an office building with five stories and retail space, is being developed by Fire H2O LLC. The new complex will cover 250,000 square feet, and will be located on a vacant parcel of 4.5 acres, between 14th and 16th Streets, on North Capitol Avenue's east side. The two buildings will be connected by a pedestrian sky bridge. One of the planned tenants in the office building is a grocery store, but the developers have not revealed the name of the tenant or whether they have leased the space.

The pedestrian bridge was one part of the plans that required further study, since it was not part of the original design. The bridge will be eighty feet in length, built of glass and steel, and connect the buildings at the level of their second floors.

In addition to the sky bridge, other changes to the original plans include raising the height of the second floor by a distance of four feet. This change was apparently made at the request of a prospective tenant who needs a higher ceiling.

No dates have been announced for the start of construction, or when the project will be complete. Brochure printing can be used to create materials that show the benefits of leasing space in projects like this.
