McLaren coming back to IndyCar
After being away from the series for decades, McLaren is coming back to IndyCar racing.
McLaren will join with Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports for the upcoming season, with a new name: Arrow McLaren Racing SP. The new team will have two cars in the 2020 NTT IndyCar Racing Series, both powered by Chevrolet.
Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports' team will remain the same, with McLaren adding its powerful marketing system, and technical expertise. Ric Peterson and Sam Schmidt, who co-founded Arrow SPM, will remain in their present positions, while Gil de Ferran, sporting director for McLaren Racing, will take the leadership role in McLaren's involvement with IndyCar racing. The IndyCar effort will be separate from the team working in Formula 1 racing.
McLaren Racing's CEO, Zak Brown, said his company has been racing in the IndyCar series since its early years. Today, the series will give the company a commercial platform that will enable them to grow the McLaren brand, and also give them a chance to race against some of the best teams in the world. Both Schmidt and Peterson said they were thrilled to partner with McLaren as well as continuing their own relationship, and were excited about the future.
The Indianapolis 500 is one of the biggest events in sports, and brings in millions of dollars each year to Indianapolis and the state. Banner printing is often used to create decorations for events like this.
