Marketing firm plans to enlarge and hire more employees

Matchbook Creative, an advertising and marketing business based in Indianapolis, is looking to spend almost $1m on a larger headquarters to be located in the city's downtown.

The company also says it will hire new employees, more than doubling its workforce.

At present, Matchbook Creative is located on North Delaware Street, where it has about 3,500 square feet for its offices. Late in 2015, the company bought a 12,000 square foot, two-story building on North Pennsylvania Street, which it will use at its headquarters.

Matchbook plants to gut and renovate the building, after which it will take over 5,000 square feet located on the second floor. It will then lease the 5,000 square-foot street-level space to a tenant. The basement, which comprises 2,000 square feet, will be shared.

Buying the building and renovating it will cost approximately $940,000, according to Matchbook’s chief operating officer, Christy Gormal. Matchbook is planning to move into its new offices in May.

At present, the firm has 12 employees, but plans to hire 20 additional personnel by 2019. It is looking for people with experience in such fields as public relations and design. It hopes to increase its output for its clients, which include Indy Eleven, Rev Racing, and USA Track & Field.

Matchbook managers will want to create letterheads that reflect their new address, and might consider having this project finished before the move.
