Indy Film Fest ready to go
Indianapolis's annual Indy Film Fest is set to get underway later this week. The festival has worked with The Indianapolis Star newspaper, which helped spread the word by distributing a guide to the films.
The guide, which was included with the July 13 issue of the paper, gave a synopsis of each film, as well as a full schedule of screening times.
Indy Film Fest's president and COO, Craig Mince, said he and others were excited to be working with the Star, since it is the aim of the festival to bring unique films to as many people as possible in the central Indiana area, and to share the film-going experience. In this way, the festival hopes to encourage people to return year after year.
The festival is running more than 90 films in genres such as drama, sci-fi, foreign films, and shorts. The festival runs from July 17 through July 26, with screenings at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. The first film shown will be ‘I ORIGINS’, a science fiction drama. There will be an awards ceremony on July 19 to honor the ‘Best of the Fest’, and on the closing night of July 26, movie buffs can see a special screening of ‘Life After Beth’, a horror comedy starring John C. Reilly, Anna Kendrick, and Aubrey Plaza.
Organizers of festivals like this often contact a banner printing company to create flags to display at the venue.
