Indianapolis folklore festival to showcase mariachi
Those interested in learning more about the rich cultural and musical heritage of mariachi music should note that the Indianapolis Mariachi and Folklore Festival will take place next month.
The Indianapolis Mariachi and Folklore Festival will be presented by Ballet Folklorico Mosaicos y Arte Mexicano, a local non-profit organization that showcases Mexican culture, music, and heritage through education programs, festivals, and other special events, such as the folklore festival happening in April.
The festival will feature the Folk Dance Community of the Midwest, including various artists representing the vernacular music of Mexico. In particular, the Mariachi del Meritito Jalisco Indianapolis style of music will be showcased. Special guests and bands include Mariachi Band Zelaya, Mariachi Sol Tapatio, Mariachi Sun Jaliscian, Ballet Folklorico Mosaics Kids, Alexander Coleman Dance Company, and Ballet Folklorico Sones Mexicanos. Community organizations will also have booths set up for the public to peruse, and artists will be exhibiting their creations for sale. The Garnachas Spot LLC Food Truck will be present, serving up tasty local bites.
Outdoor music festivals such as this will often utilize printed schedules of events and brochures to inform attendees of activities. Such materials can be printed using local brochure printing services.
The festival is scheduled for April 8 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. It will take place at the Indianapolis Central Library on 40 East St. Clair Street.
