What's Happening in Indianapolis, IN…

Indianapolis condos and property cleaned up

An area of Brentwood, near Post Road and 42nd Street, was recently brightened up when its condos got some much needed attention recently.

One of the condos was open, the walkway was overgrown with weeds, and there was broken glass on the ground near the structures. After the Indianapolis police made sure no one was in the buildings, crews moved in to start cleaning up the area.

Community residents like Julie Fidler were glad to see the cleanup start. They made the city aware that they were concerned about the properties, and felt it was time the situation was addressed

In addition to pulling weeds and cleaning up the glass, crews boarded up an abandoned house on Udell Street, and trimmed back shrubs around the condos.

Another area resident, Richard Rendo, said he approves of the job the city workers were doing to improve conditions in the area where he lives. He added that he would like to see homes repaired and given to people in need.

In addition to cleaning up the area, city crews were on the lookout for people living a vulnerable lifestyle. They wanted to offer such people resources that would enable them to turn away from a difficult life to a productive one.

Agencies like these can work with flyer printing companies, who can create materials that explain similar projects to area residents.
