Halloween-themed block party to thrill Indianapolis
The Indianapolis Cottage Home Neighborhood Association will throw its annual Cottage Home Black Party this October to celebrate the coming spooky festivities of Halloween.
Formed in 1984, The Cottage Home Neighborhood Association is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that protects the interests of the community and maintains the neighborhood and its resources. The annual block party both serves as the neighborhood’s Halloween bash, as well as a fundraiser to raise money for the various neighborhood projects, such as the gardens, green space, beehives, and community space.
The party will occur on blocked off streets, with the community space and playground decorated in a fun, spooky style. Food vendors will be present for hungry attendees, as well as beer and wine offerings for those 21 and older. There will be two music stages set up where local bands will be performing, and vendors and artists will also have their products on display and available for purchase. Children are welcomed and encouraged to come in their favorite Halloween costumes.
Block parties are frequently decorated using large-scale banners designed according to event themes. To create these banners, organizers may decide to visit local banner printing shops.
The block party is scheduled for October 8 from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm. It will take place along the 700 blocks of Dorman Street and Highland Avenue. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged.
