Award-winning actor coming to Indianapolis
Aziz Ansari is bringing his unique brand of stand-up humor to Indianapolis soon, and will appear in Old National Centre, at the Murat Theatre.
Ansari created the role of Tom Haverford, who is from Indiana, on the NBC sitcom ‘Parks and Recreation’. He played Haverford for the entire run of the show, from April, 2009 through February, 2015. He also created and stars in ‘Master of None’, a series running on Netflix. Ansari has won two Emmys, as well as a Golden Globe, for his skills as an actor. He is the first Asian American/Indian American to win a Golden Globe for his work on television, and ‘Master of None’ won him a Peabody Award.
Ansari has also appeared in a number of films including ‘I Love You, Man’, ‘Observe and Report’, and ‘30 Minutes or Less’. He also appeared in ‘Funny People’, a Judd Apatow film. Organizers who promote events like this could work with a brochure printing company to create a program for the show that includes an artist’s biography as well as other information about the tour.
Ansari will visit 13 cities on his upcoming tour, which starts in Asheville, North Carolina, on October 17. He will be at the Murat on November 3, but fans need to hurry, because tickets are already on sale, and many of his shows are already sold out.
