Boise writers sought for upcoming anthology

Penmen in Boise are being invited to take part in an opportunity to have their potentially have their work published in an anthology of literature written by authors form across the state.

The Cabin is hosting the competition, and the works selected will appear in their 2015 version of its ‘Writers in the Attic’ anthology. The pieces will be read and blind judged by a local literary person of note, and can be poetry, fiction, or nonfiction stories that center on the theme of ‘animal’.

Submissions must be no longer than 1,500 words (not including the title) and may not have been published anywhere else. Those interested can submit up to five poems or stories to the contest, and each will be considered separately for publication. The pieces must be received no later than 5:00 pm on February 27, and the author must be at least 18 years old on that date. The entry fee for the competition is $15 per writer, or $10 if they are a Cabin member. Entries must be typed, and a submission form must accompany each.

A contest like this provides area authors with an opportunity to have their works read by others. A printing company can be called upon to produce the final published anthology for distribution to the public.
