Endurance racing heads to Idaho

Set to return to Idaho this summer, the IRONMAN 70.3 Boise event will once again bring athletes, volunteers and supporters together for a full day of endurance and community festivities.

Through its partnership with the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), the event encourages participants to complete the 70.3 mile triathlon while raising funds that help adaptive athletes access sports opportunities. Beginning with a 1.2 mile swim at Lucky Peak Reservoir, the race continues with a 56 mile bike ride through Boise’s rural foothills before concluding with a 13.1 mile run along the Boise River Greenbelt and a finish in the downtown core.

Focused on expanding access to sport for individuals with physical disabilities, the Challenged Athletes Foundation provides grants, equipment and community support. By joining Team CAF, athletes can participate as fundraisers and receive benefits such as a technical training shirt, early swim wave placement, a dedicated bike racking area and entry to a pre race luncheon featuring adaptive athletes and CAF ambassadors.

Supported by volunteers, race day activities include aid stations, course directional signage and community engagement along the Greenbelt. Boise’s reservoir, open roads and shaded river paths are showcased through the point to point layout.

Athletic fundraising events such as this often rely on flyer printing, outdoor Banners, sponsor boards and course marking signage.

Taking place on Saturday, July 25, the event begins at Lucky Peak Reservoir and concludes at Julia Davis Park. Additional details about registration and Team CAF opportunities are available through the Challenged Athletes Foundation.
