Boise ranked among the best places to holiday at home

With more and more families enjoying where they live as a result of the rise of the ‘staycation’, it will not be a surprise to many that Boise has been voted as one of the best places in the U.S. for it.

Local companies could well find themselves having to ramp up their poster printing ahead of this summer season too. With many folks likely to still be planning on staying close to home, 75% of all Americans planning a vacation, and with an average spend of $1,250 per person, it looks set to be a good investment.

Boise was ranked at number 16 in the national poll by Walletthub.com, coming in ahead of many of the other larger cities of the country.

With each city rated on 20 elements, Boise also ranked in at number four for its rest and relaxation rating, and for having a large number of zoos and aquariums.

However, it only came in at number 97 for the number of tennis courts it has in the city – the lowest in the survey. Despite not being the ideal location for racquet-swingers, Boise still posted an overall recreation ranking of 24.

Coming at number one on the list was Buffalo, NY, while Minneapolis, MN and Cincinnati, OH hit numbers two and three respectively.
