Late summer and early autumn is harvest time in Boise, and a special meal has been arranged to celebrate the season and all it has to offer.
Boise’s Inn at 500 will be the location for the 2018 Harvest Moon Dinner, and this five-course seated meal will be crafted by some of the city’s top chefs. Many of the ingredients will be sourced from the Boise Farmers’ Market, and an Idaho wine will be specially selected to enjoy with each course.
While the meal will showcase the area’s produce and culinary skills, it has another purpose as well. It has been planned as a fundraiser for projects initiated and administered by the Boise Farmers Market, including its Boise Farmers Mobile Market and its Sprouts Kids Club. These projects bring healthful, fresh food to those who need it and also teach kids how they can make healthy eating choices, and even grow some of their own produce.
Along with the food, there will be a silent auction, and drinks will be served during the cocktail hour. Brochure printing can be used to prepare informational materials to distribute during an occasion like this.
This showcase of locally sourced food will be offered to the public on September 8. Tickets start at $150 each and anyone who would like to enjoy a gourmet meal while helping others to obtain food security is welcome.
